Standing with Right Plus means standing with the vulnerable.

On 2024/7/20, during the FAB DAO's Serious Conference, I want to "seriously" organize a group donation to the "awesome!" independent media "Right Plus."

Right Plus is a non-profit organization reporting on non-profits. People might find it odd that an independent media outlet, which is already hard to run, would operate as a non-profit. Even more perplexing is why they focus on social welfare, a topic that struggles to capture attention. Isn't this self-torture?

In today's world, where our attention is severely divided among social media, television, YouTube, and various other media, certain areas remain critically silent. But silence doesn't mean nothing is happening, and we tend to forget.

Right Plus is Taiwan's only independent media deeply rooted in public welfare issues, bringing voice to places that shouldn't be silent. Without Right Plus, many "truths" would disappear. According to their 2023 performance report, Right Plus has covered a wide range of topics, including child traffic safety, disabilities, sexual violence, poverty, migrant workers, indigenous communities, and climate issues. These are not subjects that mainstream media typically covers.

Additionally, when media outlets receive government or corporate funding, it's hard for them to maintain complete independence. Their voices turn into propaganda rather than genuine voices, attempting to influence you.

One of Right Plus's most notable projects is the "Experience Amplifier," which is highly creative and core to their mission. Right Plus supports "unique experiencers" in consistently producing content, opening a column for "deepening the writing of vulnerable experiences." This is a project that's not easy to monetize commercially but allows real experiences to exist in the digital space firsthand.

Right Plus's follow-up on their outputs is impressive in both quality and quantity. This is a smart non-profit organization, with flexible and effective external promotion, operational status, and content adjustment. Since its development in 2019, Right Plus's scale is gradually expanding, and they are also seeking more stable sources of funding.

Therefore, I want to take advantage of the "Serious Conference" to gather everyone and donate a little money to Right Plus. I really like Right Plus's motto: "A small force shining a little light in mainstream news." Let's spark a little light for this small force.

I will list the names of donors willing to be identified here and donate together on behalf of FAB DAO. The donation is planned to be quietly processed the day after the Serious Conference, on 7/22, without causing trouble for the recipient. Other worthwhile actions include subscribing to Right Plus's newsletter or sharing Right Plus with two other people in the real world.
